Welcome to P.E. at Vacherie Elementary!!!!


My name is Mary Mercedes Chopin.  I have been teaching at VPS/VES since 1989.  I am currently in my 37th year of teaching.  I have a B.A. Degree, Master's Degree and Plus 30.  I am certified in all Elementary Grades, Mild/Moderate-Special Ed. 1-12 and Supervisor of Student Teaching.  I am married with three children and eight grandchildren.  My after school activities are cooking, gardening, sewing, teaching religion, and baby sitting.  I enjoy and love my SAINTS!!!!!!!!
